1.2 RS232 AND RS485 WIRING CONNECTIONS

The cable connections to an IBM PC-compatible computer are different for RS232 and RS485.

The RS232 cable connections at the computer end may interface with either a 25-pin

or a 9-pin subminiature D connector. Both are commonly used and have pin connec-

tions as shown below.
